Class of '53 - John Kirk played his trumpet for two Easter services last Sunday - April 5, 2015 - at First Lutheran Church in Barron, WI, where he and his wife Barb (Brandt - '53) attend. John says, "I have been playing for Easter services for 55 years. Praise the Lord! He is risen!!!"

Class of '56 - Jerry Larson 's son Bruce Larson, head coach at Somerset High School As the national Shula Award winner, Grant will receive $25,000 from the NFL Foundation, $15,000 of which will go to his high school's football program. He will also be a guest of the NFL during Super Bowl on Feb. 1 in Glendale, Arizona. Nominated by the Green Bay Packers, Larson, of Somerset, Wisconsin, was one of three high school football coaches from across the country honored as a finalist. The award was created to honor high school football coaches who demonstrate a commitment to player health and safety, and to the integrity, achievement, and leadership exemplified by Don Shula, the winningest coach in NFL history. |
